Summary

While the law consists of rules and procedures, there are no rules and procedures for being effective in cross-examining witnesses.

J. Michael Veron is an experienced trial lawyer who has developed and relied on a simple and straightforward method of preparing and executing cross-examinations over 40 years. In this presentation, he outlines the method in a way that all trial lawyers can use.

J. Michael Veron is the senior partner in the Lake Charles law firm of Veron, Bice, Palermo & Wilson, LLC. He received his B.A. in 1972 and his J.D. in 1974 from Tulane. In law school, he served as an editor on the Tulane Law Review and was elected to membership in The Order of the Coif. After a judicial clerkship, he attended Harvard Law School, where he received the LL.M. in 1976.
