CHRISTINE D. SPAGNOLI is a partner of Greene, Broillet & Wheeler in Santa Monica, specializing in representing plaintiffs in product liability, personal injury and legal malpractice actions. She plays a leading role in representing people injured in tire tread separation cases. In January, 2013, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) recognized Chris as its 2012 Trial Lawyer of Year, the first time that a woman has been so recognized in the 50 year history of the organization. Chris was also nominated as a finalist for the Consumer Attorneys of California 2013 Trial Lawyer of the Year, as part of the Mauro v. Ford trial team. She has previously been nominated as a finalist for CAALA Trial Lawyer of the Year three times, and CAOC Trial Lawyer of the Year twice. In October, 2013, the Civil Justice Program of Loyola Law School honored Chris as one of its two yearly “Champions of Justice” an award given yearly to two distinguished la wyers “who embody the spirit of the civil justice system through their exceptional legal careers.” Within professional organizations, Chris has assumed numerous leadership positions. She served as the President of the Consumer Attorneys of California in 2009 and as the President of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles in 2002. She was elected as a fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers in 2007 and as a fellow of the International Society of Barristers in 2013. She is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) where she holds the rank of Associate. In 1998, she was appointed by the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court to the Civil Jury Instructions Committee (CACI), where she still serves. Chris has been ranked as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Attorneys in California by the Los Angeles Daily Journal , which has also named her as one of the Top 50 Women Litigators since 2002. She has also bee n named among the Top Women Southern California Lawyers in since 2004, and a Super Lawyer in the since Southern California Super Lawyers peer-nominated listings compiled and published by Law & Politics. She was named by Lawdragon.com to its inaugural list of "The Lawdragon 500 Plaintiffs Lawyers" in the United States. She was also named one of the Best Lawyers in America by Woodward/White, Inc. based on a survey of her peers.
