One Case.  Seven Weeks of Instruction.

Once every three years, NHAJ offers Trial Skills Academy: a unique opportunity to work with leaders

of the bar as they coach, model and critique core trial skills and strategies.

Participants will participate in both plenary sessions (with demonstrations and discussion) and

break out sessions (for exercises and advice.)

This year's Trial Skills Academy will be held virtually.

Week 1 - Tuesday, May 11: Intro and Presentations on "Inside the Juror’s Mind: The Science of Decision-Making” presented by Roger Turgeon and Voir Dire

Week 2 - Tuesday, May 18: On-Your-Feet Practice of Voir Dire; Presentation(s) on Opening Statement

Week 3 - Tuesday, May 25: On-Your-Feet Practice of Opening Statement; Presentation(s) on Direct Examination

Week 4 - Tuesday, June 1: On-Your-Fee Practice of Direct Examination; Presentation(s) on Cross Examination

Week 5 - Tuesday, June 8: On-Your-Feet Practice of Cross Examination; Presentation(s) on Direct & Cross of Expert Witnesses

Week 6 - Tuesday, June 15: On-Your-Feet Practice of Direct & Cross of Expert Witnesses; Presentation(s) on Closing Arguments

Week 7 - Tuesday, June 22: On-Your-Feet Practice of Closing Argument; Wrap-Up/Important Take-Aways
